From 2005, Jernej Gašperšič holds his degree in biochemistry from the Faculty of chemistry and chemical technology at the University of Ljubljana. After the graduation he worked at Institute of
Chemistry at department of biotechnology until 2010, where he made his PhD in Biomedicine in the field of Biochemistry and molecular biology. He has a decade of active working experience in research laboratories of industry and institutes. From 2010 to 2016 he was employed in BIA separations where he developed methods for purification of proteins, viruses and vaccines, DNA. In 2016 he was employed for one year at department for catalysis and reaction engineering where he learned how to program growth of cell lines bioreactor. From 2018 he is employed at the Institute of Biochemistry of the Faculty of Medicine UL where he excels his knowledge at next generation technology of DNA sequencing and gene mutation/variation impact on human phenotype.
